Benefits and Risks of Avastin Therapy
Avastin, along with intravenous 5-FU–based chemotherapy, is approved to treat first-line and second-line metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). There are benefits and risks of taking Avastin for your mCRC.
In studies, adding Avastin to IV 5-FU–based chemotherapy has been shown to significantly increase overall survival among patients with mCRC.

The length of time people lived without their tumors growing or spreading increased significantly
Almost 30% more people saw their tumors shrink
